ALL the quizzes for all three levels of the Oregon Battle of the Books are finished are done! Wahoooo!
Now I’m going to focus on uploading all my previous quizzes that didn’t already get migrated from my Weebly website to here. Let me know if there are any particular titles you want.
Also, please email me at lisa@bobqc.net if you have any trouble getting the quizzes. I had a bunch of spammy “failed” orders on my website for the past couple of months, so I installed a CAPTCHA thing, but then for a while my actual customers couldn’t purchase. I fix one glitch, another arises…oh well, keeps me on my toes. But please let me know if you need any help. Thanks 🙂

I don’t advertise this often because it’s not something I do with every single quiz I write, but some books just call out to me, making me curious about how the settings, foods, clothing, etc. look in real life, how the music mentioned in the book sounds, where the place is located in the world, and other background info. So I figured that while I was looking things up for my own sake, I might as well includes links to them in my quizzes. The could be especially useful for teachers creating lessons plans or students doing reports related to the books.

Projekt 1065: A Novel of World War II by Alan Gratz – 364 questions & answers with page numbers about a 13-year-old Irish boy living in Nazi Germany and part of the Hitler Youth program, working as a spy for the Allies. This book is SO EXCITING! –  93 links to info, maps, photos, and videos

Asha and the Spirit Bird by Jasbinder Bilan – 270 questions and answers with page numbers about a girl and boy living in Punjab, in northern Indian who go on a pilgrimage through the Himalayan Mountains. – 70 links to info, maps, photos, and videos

The boy’s parents send him to live with his aunt, uncle, and cousin in Massachusetts to get him away from the dangers of living in Damascus, Syria under the cruel President Bashar Al-Assad government and the revolution in 2024. – 49 links to info, maps, photos, and videos

My Review of the middle school level 2026 OBOB title, An Occasionally Happy Family by Cliff Burke – “5.0 out of 5 stars Occasionally heartbreaking, occasionally hilarious!

Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2025

This was one of the best Battle of the Books titles I’ve ever read. It’s a middle school level title, but several times I actually laughed out loud, which rarely happens to me when reading a book for kids. I related strongly to the teenaged siblings and their discomfort about meeting their dad’s girlfriend when he hadn’t even prepared them about her existence. The most important lesson in this book is that honest communication is critical for relationships to thrive, and that emotions should be expressed, even if it hurts, rather than be bottled up.

If you have any problems accessing quizzes you purchased please email me at lisa@bobqc.net and I will will send the quizzes to you as attachments to a reply email.

Website Update

If you purchased quizzes previously from my Weebly website (www.obob.me) and now you are unable to download the quizzes, it’s because I recently transferred the Battle of the Books Quiz Center from Weebly to WordPress. Please email me at lisa@bobqc.net or 14obob@gmail.com and provide the order number and which product(s) were ordered (especially the grade level). I will email you the quizzes as attachments to an email. I apologize for the inconvenience and any issues you’ve experienced but I believe the new website server will be better in the long run. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

This is my new Battle of the Books Quiz Center website. My new email is lisa@bobqc.net. Although I will continue to write quizzes for the books used in the Oregon Battle of the Books competitions, now that I’ve been creating quizzes for over ten years and have over 800 quizzes in inventory, I want people to know that my quizzes are useful nationwide as study guides for competitions and also for use in classrooms, homeschools, book clubs, etc.
